Jennifer Stromsten

Jen is the Director of Programs for Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC). Jen is also part of research and consulting projects related to addressing the social and economic impacts of nuclear power plant closures. In addition, she helped launch the Vermont Futures Project, a statewide initiative formed by the Vermont State Chamber of Commerce, to create awareness of a need for attention to the state’s economy through data and policy development.

Jen earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Brown University and a Masters in Regional Planning from UMass Amherst where she focused on economically sustainable land use through infill-driven redevelopment in small towns. She has collaborated and consulted on UMass community-based public participation and planning projects in Marlboro, Greenfield, Pittsfield, Turners Falls, Chicopee, Holyoke and Amherst, MA.

Before becoming and planner and economic developer, Jen spent 20 years in non-profit fundraising developing results-driven, broad-based annual fund programs and volunteer networks.
